Lincoln Golf Club has been awarded the Golf Mark Gold standard [Golf Mark is a national scheme run by the EnglandGolf that identifies and recognises junior- and beginner-friendly golf facilities, helping young golfers get off to the right start in golf and develop their potential in a safe environment.
At Lincoln Golf Club we recognise that Juniors are the future of our Club and aim to provide opportunities for juniors of any age, both boys and girls, to play and enjoy golf. We have the facilities and the coaching to help them develop their skills and knowledge in the game of golf in a safe and welcoming environment and we also provide opportunities to gain a handicap and play a variety of competition formats, for those who wish to.
Lincoln Golf Club holds weekly coaching sessions for any juniors who would like to start playing golf, or just improve their game. These are open to members and non-members alike at a very reasonable cost.
We also have a Junior Coaching Academy which offers coaching in all areas of the game, plus access to the practice ground and par 3 practice course with the additional facility to play 6 holes on the golf course and the opportunity to progress along the ‘Stepping Stones to Full Junior Membership’.
Junior members who are not ready for a Council of National Golf Union's (CONGU) Handicap are awarded the CONGU recognised Club Handicap, up to 54, which allows them to join in all the Junior competitions on a fair and equal footing. When they are able to get their handicap down to 28 / 36 they revert to a CONGU handicap and can play in any of the main club competitions.
There are regular Junior competitions run throughout the year, both qualifyers and non-qualifiers and junior members are also able to play in the Junior team in league and friendly matches with other clubs.
We run a Junior Open competition , which is also a Daily Telegraph Qualifier and we run a Qualifier for the Andalucian Junior Open, with some our Juniors being successful and playing in the final in Andalucia, Spain.
